I signed up for a full-time membership at the Fishkill location about 3 weeks ago. I go to at least 3 or 4 one-hour sessions per week. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten such a complete work out in my entire life! This beats running, this beats biking, this beats lifting. After the first few classes, everything…and I mean EVERYTHING was sore, that’s a good thing. The instructors are accommodating and friendly, they will give you that one on one attention if you need it. The atmosphere isn’t intimidating and judgmental. The music is FUN! The people around you all have a common goal which is to get in shape. There are classes at different times to accommodate many types of schedules. Signing up for this has been one of my best decisions of 2015, not to mention I’ve lost 5 pounds since joining (I am DIETING as well).

Our son Michael has been going to Just For Kicks in Carmel for a year now, and we can see how well it has helped him. It is helping him grow and become strong physically, and the Elite Program has helped him with discipline and leadership skills. He also comes home from each class telling us how much fun he is having. The instructors and staff at the school are great, and have a good balance between teaching the students skills, and letting them have fun. We have had experience with other karate schools and would only recommend Just for Kicks for anyone who wants to learn Karate!

My son Damien has been a student here for over a year now and absolutely loves it there! The staff and instructors are awesome and go out of they're way to help the kids learn, have fun fun as well as all the other amenities that they offer throughout the course of the year. We've been a part of the Just For Kicks Family for over a year now and I can't say enough great things about this place. The staff is amazing, the facility is huge and always spotless, and they have so much to offer in addition to daily martial arts classes. After school karate program, summer camp, parent's night out, holiday events, and birthday parties to name a few. I love that in addition to learning martial arts in class each day - the kids are also learning respect, self-discipline and so many other positive character traits that are beneficial at home & school too. The staff does a great job at mixing just the right amount of training and fun into each class so the kids never get bored. I highly recommend Just For Kicks to anyone with children.

Just for Kicks is amazing. My son has been going there for a while and he loves it. He is more confirdent in everything he does. He has a postive attitude about everything. since he has started karate his grades have improved so much. He is much more self disciplined. The teachers are amazing they balance fun and learning. My son loves helping them with events outside the school. They have programs for children of all ages. They are always there for the students and the parents. Bethany is the first person you see when you walk in the door, she always has a smile on her face, she knows everyone by name and she makes you feel welcomed. Just for Kicks is a family everyone is there for each other. If you are looking for a fun place for your child to learn karate come to Just for Kicks. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

We've only been to one class so far, but the kids had so much fun! Our 4 year old was crabby and nervous and everyone made an effort to talk to him, comfort him, and encourage him to play. Our 6yo had a small meltdown when he was unsure what to do and Zack (they said that's his name but I'm bad with names, lol) went right over to him and calmed him down and showed him what to do. They were so patient and kind and so much fun! My kids are already asking to come back tomorrow and every day. Thank you!

We would highly recommend Just for Kicks. We have been part of the Just for Kicks family for almost 2 years. First our 8 year old started classes and he loved it so much that he started volunteering to help out at special events. Our 5 year old twins recently started classes as well. They all look forward to classes each week. The instructors as well as Ms. Bethany couldn't be nicer and we also love that they do special events, i.e. Truck or Treat, parents night out, etc.

Do I need to be in shape before I start Kickboxing?

Short answer; absolutely not! We have members of all health and fitness levels, and our classes are designed to fit around each one of these levels.

The only thing we ask is that you bring your best attitude when you come to one of our classes. If you have the mental framework determined to become physically healthy, that is all we want to see. Our trainers will help you get into the best shape of your life!

Can I lose weight with the Fitness Kickboxing program?

Of course. Although, we must say you get what you put in. If you follow a consistent workout pattern, you are bound to see the results you want. On average, kickboxers burn an average of 820 calories per hour.

Do I need any kickboxing experience?

No, we love teaching new members. There is no better way to gain respect from our community than someone who has the will to join our class without any experience. If you can take that first step, you have already proven to our group that you are a strong-minded individual. We will teach you everything you need to know.

Does the physical training include weights or machines?

Most of the training comes from the natural, isotonic, aerobic, anaerobic, and isometric exercises, although, some weight training may be recommended or used. These exercises help our members with losing weight and toning the whole body; our focus is for you to develop speed, flexibility, and force.

What should I wear or bring?

Sweats and a T-shirt, or yoga attire, work best. You’ll also want to bring a towel and a bottle of water. And of course bring the mental attitude that you’re going to kill this workout!

How often should I attend classes?

We understand how busy your life can be; we would love to see you at least once a week. We believe once a week will be a good start for you to build your overall endurance and capability to implement the basic kickboxing moves.

Once you have built the basic foundation of the Kickboxing moves, we encourage you to then increase the amount of frequency and intensity of your workouts. We want you to go at your own pace, but make sure to challenge yourself to see the best results.
